In our class, we have Reception Children and Year 1 combined.
Our classroom is always busy with a focus on child initiated, active and experiential learning. It is split into different areas which can sometimes include:
Alongside all of these areas where we can develop our understanding through play and careful questioning and support from adults and our friends we also take part in some small group activities with adults each day. One morning / afternoon a week we enjoy taking taking part in Forest Schools which are invaluable for developing our communication and social skills!
School Uniform
This will only be worn Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Appropriate school shoes are to be worn.
Our P.E. days this term are Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child comes into school wearing their P.E. kit on these days.
Encouraging and supporting your child with reading at home will help them to gain confidence. We would like to aim for every child to read aloud at home at least 3 times a week.
Each child will undertake Reception Baseline Assessments in the first month of starting so we know how best to support them in their journey through our school
