This will only be worn Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Appropriate school shoes are to be worn.
Optional Key Stage 1 Assessments

Our P.E. days this term are Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child comes into school wearing their P.E. kit on these days. This consists of black shorts/tracksuit, red T-shirt and trainers.
Children will be assessed as soon as possible and given their reading books. Children are expected to read every night and for extended periods of time, choosing a wide variety of text types from school and home. Please encourage your child to discuss the book orally, as reading activities will be completed in school. Page numbers read are required in their reading records, ready to share back in the classroom the following day.
Children will be using a spelling scheme following the national curriculum recommended word list for Year 1 and 2. Initially children will be given 10 spellings, however these will be reduced if needed. Spelling tests will take place on Fridays. All children will have access to these spellings. Separate interventions will cover any gaps in children’s spellings.
