Our Vision & Values

Our Vision

At Clehonger CE Primary School, our vision is rooted in the words of Timothy:

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, we aspire to be a nurturing Christian community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. As a small rural school, we cherish the strength of our close relationships and the sense of belonging that comes from learning and growing together.

Our strapline, “Leading with Courage, Living with Love,” reflects our commitment to developing confident and compassionate learners. We encourage children to lead with courage by trying new challenges, speaking up for what is right and taking responsibility within our school community. At the same time, we seek to live with love through kindness, friendship, forgiveness and respect for one another.

Through our Christian values — including courage, friendship, respect, creativity, responsibility, helpfulness, honesty, love, resilience, kindness, peace and self-control — we create a calm, caring and purposeful environment where children feel safe to take risks, make mistakes and grow. These values shape our curriculum, worship and daily life, supporting the social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and moral development of every child.

Together, we aim to nurture reflective learners who are confident in their faith, compassionate in their actions and ready to make a positive difference in their communities and the wider world.

Our Values

Our school community is shaped by twelve core Christian values. These values guide our relationships, learning and behaviour, and are woven throughout the curriculum, collective worship and daily life of the school.

Our Core Values

  • Courage
  • Friendship
  • Respect
  • Creativity
  • Responsibility
  • Helpfulness
  • Honesty
  • Love
  • Resilience
  • Kindness
  • Peace
  • Self-Control

Each term we focus on particular values through Collective Worship, assemblies, learning and reflection, helping children understand how these values can shape their actions and choices.

By living out these values, we aim to ensure that every child grows as a confident learner, caring friend and thoughtful member of society.
